Review : Actually a very good toy
Firstly, TRU has this on sale for $80, in-store or online.
I agree with all points in the 1st review, except I have better things to say about the tracks, which are double-sided.
What I like about these blue tracks is that they are very easy for my 4-yr old to put together, and she has average dexterity. She just takes them apart and snaps them back in. I compare to the toy train that I had growing up. It was the modeling type of train set w/ the Sante Fe engine and the metal tracks... fun to set up but it hardly worked and the connectors took forever to troubleshoot. These Tomy trains will run and run. I've seen kids fling the engines and track pieces across the room and everything holds up and goes back together.
Where we play trains, we have a flat surface. I do not recommend this set-up on carpet; Put a mat underneath. If you do have carpet, go for the tan Trackmaster type tracks that go with Thomas (yes, these Tomy trains run on that Thomas track & vice...
