this product actually has very little flexibility in design-- it doesn't allow for much free form building bec the pieces can only connect and be supported in very specific ways. the instructions are ultra specific. my husband (an engineer) took 2 hours to build this. and my 3 1/2 year old just got so frustrated bec every time he went to play with it, it fell apart and we needed my husband to rebuild it. not a fun toy. wish i had read the reviews before i bought this. the toys r us site has almost 100 2 star reviews.
