Purchased it for our four year old grandson. He had fun for hours playing with it. It is teaching him how locks work and is also good for creative water/boat play. It took just a little time to put together. Parts seem very sturdy. Must be careful when one empties water so not to have it come apart. Not really a problem unless one is careless with it.
