Review : Fantastic Little Plane
I love WWI era bipes like the Sopwith Camel, S.E.5, and Albatross. But I'm tired of lugging a ton of equipment out to the flying field, not to mention the club and AMA fees, so my Nitro powered planes have sat unused while I fly my Aero Ace (a toy!) in my front yard. Fun, but not the same as a real RC.
Enter the Albatross. I don't trust myself to fly it in my front yard yet, but a quick walk to the empty lot down the street provided to be the perfect spot. This plane is a TON of fun in a very tiny package. Easy to fly with a little practice, and a bit more potent than I thought it would be. Even so, it flies quite well at slower speeds. At half throttle, the flight time lasts about 8 minutes. It's only a 3 channel, so no aileron control, but still a great little plane.
It seems very delicate, but it survived several hard landings and one crash without injury. That said, it is VERY light and does not like wind at all. make sure you fly this thing on a calm day or...
